My Newest Aquisition

This is the newest aquisition to my McCoy collection, the Hillbilly Bear Cookie Jar. It is so illusive I never, ever, ever thought I would have it. About l5 years ago I was fortunate enough to buy the "lid" to the jar from a friend. The bottom to it had been destroyed so I never even thought I'd find a bottom to make a complete jar. This summer I had an e-mail offering me the cookie jar if I could pay an acceptable price for it. I assured the seller others could pay him more than I could, much more, but he wanted me to have it to add to my collection. He'd seen this website and knew I would love and treasure this jar which had been his grandmothers for many years. I have several rare items in my collection but this is THE Rarest I do belive...an item I will treasure for ever! A couple of collectors couldn't understand why I wouldn't put a price on it and sell it. Everyone doesn't realize that we all love our Collections, for whatever they are, and just because some can pay more than others it doesn't lessen the thrill for us when we can buy something. Someone even called the seller asking why he sold it to me and not to him...that he would have paid more. I'm happy for each and every one of you when you find something that gives you pleasure, whether it is a simple pot and sauce or the perfect item you've been looking for...or a rare item. The seller and I have become e-mail friends...you never know where or when you can make a new friend...that's a treasure itself.

please be patient!

I know I'm slow in answering e-mails just now and even slower with request for itmes on my site. I work for an accountant and right now is our really, really, really busy time.

Besides that I'm very unorganized at the moment anda can't easily lay my hands on a piece of pottery you might be asking about.

Tax season will be over and hopefully I'll be getting a little more organized.

RIP David Perry

An Avid McCoy collector, David Perry, passed away December 23. David and his wife Shelley were a big part of the McCoy Pottery Collectors Reunions for the years that they came. David and Shelley always had a room full of beautiful McCoy for sale during the week there. David had a wonderful, lively sense of humor and was a lot of fun to be around.
